Even though they are young, they are attempting to solve some of the most challenging problems that are currently affecting modern society.

This is meaningful to us, as we are trying to help many young people across the world to learn English so they can pursue their dreams too. By sharing these stories with you, we hope that you will continue to work towards your English language learning goals.

Here is a list of some of our favourite TED talks that have been delivered by young professionals. We hope their passion inspires you to continue learning English and improving your spoken English.

Justin Lafazan – Why All Young People Should Be Entrepreneurs

Justin Lafazan was 19 years old when he was invited to do this TEDx talk! In his talk, he discusses why becoming an entrepreneur when you are young is one of the best ways to solve problems, create opportunities, and be fulfilled in your career pursuits.

Lafazan discusses a question that many people think about – how do you want to live your life? He argues that through entrepreneurship, you are able to design your own lifestyle. It gives you the ability to choose when, where, on what, and with whom you want to work. It allows you to create a path for yourself that will best suit your skills, passions, and interests.

Catherine Moolenschot – What Is The Point, Really?

Catherine Moolenschot wrote her first book when she was just 13 years old! In this TEDx talk, she has a unique conversation with the audience on how to be a “human being” and not a “human doing.” What she means by this is that many people determine success by what they do, not who they become. She believes that it should be the opposite.

Instead of blindly chasing success, Moolenschot asks us to think about why we pursue certain goals instead of appreciating what we are doing in order to achieve them. This conversation is relevant because many people pursue goals only for monetary success and not because they enjoy what they are doing. She believes that the work should be the most fulfilling part of the process regardless of the reward at the end. She says we should appreciate the moment more than the accomplishment. This will make success sweeter at the end.

Tallia Storm – Discovering the Storm

Tallia Storm tirelessly pursued her passion for singing from a young age and was discovered by Sir Elton John at the age of 13! He was so impressed by her talent that he invited her to perform at one of his concerts and her life completely changed from that point on.

The message that she sends across in her TEDx talk is that no matter what your passion is, you need to be prepared to seize the moment. The fear of failure should not hold you back because even if you fail, there is so much that you can learn from it. Opportunities to follow your dream rarely come about, so when one shows itself you should be prepared to reach out and grab it.

Jared Kleinert – Why Young People Today Hold More Power Than Ever Before

Jared Kleinert has a lot of faith in the potential of young people. He has spent many years working with talented young people. Through his work with ‘millennials’, Kleinert aims to identify trends among high-performing millennials that allow them to achieve success at increasingly younger ages.

Kleinert talks about how young people today have so much power and influence because of their ability to connect with others and with new ideas at a faster rate than ever before. This has allowed for young entrepreneurs to solve problems faster than any social or government institutions.
