Jyoti and Suresh Guptara (Age 29)
Jyoti and Suresh Guptara are British-Indian novelists. Famously known as the Guptara twins, they wrote ‘The Insanity Saga’ when they were 26 years old! Their love for the English language inspired them to start writing at a young age and Jyoti even dropped out of school at 15 to pursue writing full-time. If you are a reader who enjoys science fiction then you might really enjoy this series. It is an epic tale that is set in the future and tells the story of an innocent community of people who have powers. The series is about this community’s story of survival as they are targeted because of their powers and are seen a threat despite being peaceful people.
Pierce Brown (Age 30)
Pierce Brown is an American novelist. He published the the first book of the ‘Red Rising Trilogy’ at age 26! The first book in the trilogy also went on to become a part of the New York Time’s best seller list. The series is so popular that fans and critics both are calling it the next Hunger Games. This is another series for science fiction lovers as the story takes place on Mars. The series follows the life of a slave who lives below the surface of the planet while the elite ruling class lives a luxurious life above the surface. The series tells a story of lies, betrayal, and exploitation that allows the ruling class to maintain their power over the slaves, and how the slaves attempt to fight back in the face of impossible odds.
Téa Obreht (Age 32)
Téa Obreht is a Serbian-American novelist. She wrote ‘The Tiger’s Wife’ when she was 25 years old! In fact, even the editor and agent who worked with her to publish it were both under 29 at the time. If you enjoy historical fiction, you will love this book, which is about a young female physician who lives in an unnamed Balkan country. In the aftermath of the civil war, she is on a quest to solve the mystery behind her grandfather’s death.
Shani Boianjiu (Age 31)
Shani Boianjiu is an Israeli author. She finished writing her award winning book, ‘The People of Forever Are Not Afraid’ at the age of 25. She is a young veteran who was a part of the Israel Defense Forces. Her book is a fictionalized account of what it is like to be a woman in the army and is told through the perspective of three women who were drafted into the army against their will.
Tahereh Mafi (Age 30)
Tahereh Mafi is an Iranian-American writer. She wrote ‘Shatter Me’ at the age of 26. The story is about a young girl named Juliette. Juliette is cursed with a fatal touch and no one can explain why this happens. Because of her curse, Juliette is locked away for her accidental crimes and has to decide whether to be used as a weapon by the corrupt government, or fight for her freedom. This is a truly gripping tale for science fiction and thriller readers.
