The number of people in India who are looking for online solutions to learn English is growing! EnglishHelper is one of the companies that is looking to make a difference by tapping into the vast English learning market that exists in India.

According to the annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2018, one in every four students in Class 8 in India cannot read a Class 2 English textbook. This is where the opportunity for change exists as millions of people in India believe that the ability to speak in English increases their chances to get a job.

Sanjay Gupta, Global CEO of EnglishHelper said, “English is the language of aspiration. It equips students for higher education, enhances their job opportunities and empowers people socially.”

Started in 2011 by Boston-based cognitive scientist and serial entrepreneur Dr Venkat Srinivasan, EnglishHelper offers two major programmes in India that are poised to make a difference. One of these is RightToRead, which now teaches over 2.5 million students English across 27 states in India. The other is EnglishBolo™, a unique blended learning program that was launched in 2018.

While discussing EnglishBolo, Sanjay said, “Over a period of 100 days, learners undertake 100 self-learning lessons of 15 minutes each and attend 10 classes. These classes can be booked for any time of the day, and for any day of the week. EnglishBolo can also be availed as a ‘pay by instalment’ option to assist low-income learners.”

EnglishHelper is looking to make a difference by bringing affordable and dynamic English learning solutions to people from all walks of life.
